Intra Oral Scanner File Process at AMSTDI

Carestream Intra Oral Files

The Doctor uploads the file to the Carestream web site and chooses the
AmericaSmiles portal to send their file to. The doctor must put the name of your lab in the notes section. We receive an email notice that the file has arrived, we download the file where we can design and mill the unit. Carestream files are an STL file and can be read by all Exocad and 3Shape systems so there would be no need to convert the file

Cerec Intra Oral Files

This functions much the same as the Carestream. The Doctor uploads the file to
the Cerec portal and chooses the AmericaSmiles as the preferred lab. The doctor must put the name of your lab in the notes section. We receive notification that a file has arrived in our portal. We then retrieve the file and can convert it to a file that can be read by the labs design software systems. If the lab has no system we can design and mill the unit.

Trios Intra Oral Scanner files

Trios is made by 3Shape and is a proprietary file. The file can be setup to automatically load to the Trios AmericaSmile portal. The dental practice must send a request to Jake@americasmiles.com which is the 3Shape communicate portal. The practice or lab affiliated with the practice must call and ask to speak to Brandon. AmericaSmiles can then receive the file

Iteros Files Intra Oral Scanner files

AmericaSmiles does not accept intra oral scanner files at this point.

All other intra oral scanner files

Most other intra oral scanner files are open files that can be uploaded to through the AMSTDI website as a standard milling file. In the note section of the upload process the doctor or affiliated lab should write the file sent is an intraoral scanner. Personal from our IT milling department will consult each lab or dental practice on the process.
